Great news for RPG game fans on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita , Koei Temco has announced that it’s beast-battling action RPG Toukiden: Kiwami will be coming to the two platforms on the 27th of March 2015! Expanded and updated to double the size of the original game, the new version will be available in both physical and digital formats.
Featuring twice as many stages as the original, Toukiden: Kiwami will boast new weapons and moves, as well as newly discovered Oni, over 100 new Mitama plus a host of new Slayers. Continuing where the original Toukiden: The Age of Demons story left off, Toukiden: Kiwami will finaly give players more insight into the origin of the Slayers and the mysterious Council of Elders.
All the player favourites from the first installment will still be available and will be joined by new characters called Reki, Sōma and Horō, who will enrich the story by joining the game’s original cast.
Toukiden: Kiwami will also feature more difficult missions, new fighting styles, and new weapons while the addition of new Oni such as Snowflame, the mysterious Oni of the north, will double their number in the first instalment. The games’ upgrades also include stronger Oni with improved moves that will give players of the game a good run for their money during battles.
Also new is Toukiden: Kiwami’s storyline, which takes place three months after the original battle to prevent an awakening. The brief and uneasy stability in Utakata is soon destroyed however, as the new Oni from the north wreak havoc and destruction to the village’s defences and players will have to take the fight to the enemy in a desperate battle for their very existence.
There are a host of other new features included in the game, a selection of new special mission types for example, and special materials players can use to create new armour and weapons. All these are in relation to the new Oni and slayers will only be able to access these when they go on one of the new special missions.
As if the expanded and improved game was not enough, Playstation 4 owners will also be glad to know that they will be able to carry across any saved data from Toukiden: The Age of Demons including weapons, armour, Mitama and progress levels, to Toukiden: Kiwami.
Toukiden: Kiwami is out on disk and digital format for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 27 2015.
