The open beta for Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is starting today on PlayStation 4. The beta means that PS4 owners can try out the upcoming open world tactical shooter game for free. Ghost Recon Wildlands features an immense open world which players will have to navigate with fellow elite operatives as you look to stop the Santa Blanca drug cartel. The Ghost Recon Wildlands beta runs from 23rd through to 27th of February.
A Stiffer Challenge than Itacua
Sampling the open beta allows you to explore the world in Ghost Recon Wildlands further than in the closed beta held earlier this month. Those who took part will recognize the scene of their previous adventures, Itacua. Near Itacua is the mountainous province of Montuyoc where the Santa Blanca cartel hides its massive cache of arms and trains its best sicarios. Storming this stronghold wont be no easy task, so players can expect a hard slog here.
There’s a lot of new things to do in Ghost Recon Wildlands, in addition to exploring a much larger world. You’ll be tasked with chasing a brand new Santa Blanca warlord and bringing down his organisation across five new missions. Thankfully, 12 new Kingslayer Files full of useful intel will help you get started.
As in the first beta, you’ll also be able to customize stuff like your Ghost and their load out to suit your fighting preferences.
Abilities include skydiving, using night vision for stealth by night, powerful military vehicles, or street by street combat.
There’s also some new side missions such as new rebel operations and supply raids, seeing how long you can survive for on your own, or pitting your team against Santa Blanca’s best.
As mentioned before, the Ghost Recon Wildlands open beta starts today and will finish on 27th February. All players on PS4 can take part in the beta for free. However, if you want to play co-op you will need a PS Plus membership.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be released on 7th March.
