Last Guardian Review Roundup
IGN:
“Team Ico’s much-anticipated third game is filled with the highest highs, and the lowest lows.”
IGN’s Marty Silva writes; “The Last Guardian has the highest highs and lowest lows of nearly any game I’ve ever reviewed. When it works, the bond I forged with my furry and feathered friend Trico is unlike any other. . .
. . But between those moments, The Last Guardian is a mess of wonky controls, a poor camera, and some annoyingly finicky puzzles.” Read the full IGN The Last Guardian review here.
The Telegraph
” An extraordinary tale of companionship” [5 Stars]
The Telegraph’s Tom Higgins writes: “The Last Guardian inevitably bears the scars of a lengthy development. Its frame-rate can chug, some textures can be flat and you will find yourself wrestling with an insubordinate camera more often than you would like. But that is also what makes Trico and The Last Guardian so remarkable. Things that any animal lover can relate to – it is beautiful, heartfelt, unique and infuriating. And I adore it.

Pocket Lint
“The Last Guardian has old school roots but is a very modern game. In an age where the top titles are effectively action movies you control, this is an indie classic that you’d happily sit in a trendy London cinema to see. . . . It is also magically presented, with a main character in Trico that you will long remember after the final scenes play out.”

Stuff
“A flawed, feathery masterpiece”
Over at Stuff Tom Parsons opens up with “There is so much wrong with The Last Guardian.” However, the theme of his review is: “But here’s the thing: I don’t care what you think. Because I love Trico, and I love this flawed, frustrating game . . . – The Last Guardian is irresistible all the same.”

GameSpot
Peter Brown writes: “When the book closes on their story, it’s hard not to open it up again and begin anew. The trials you overcome endear you to both characters, but the emotions Trico elicits make you want to give it another chance–to be the patient, effective partner it truly deserves.” -Read the full GameSpot The Last Guardian review here.
