Hot on the heels of price drops for its flagship PlayStation 4 console in the United States and Japan, Sony has now lowered the PS4 price in the UK and mainland Europe.
The new pricing means that a 500GB PS4 model will now cost under £300 pounds at £299.99,a saving of over £50, and 349.99 Euros for the rest of Europe.
The new PS4 price drop comes at a time when Sony’s latest generation console is experiencing successful adoption figures worldwide. The new pricing points to making the decision for which console to go for as a gift or a treat this coming Christmas an easy one.
Consoles will begin with the 500GB PlayStation 4 although Sony also has a line up of bundles available too. With over 20 million PlayStation 4 owners in its few years of existence, Sony’s PS4 price drop is welcome news in relation to the growth of our community.
PS4 Price Drop also Covers Australia, New Zealand
In addition to making access to the PS4 console easier for some late adopters, the new PS4 price drop will also apply to non European countries such as the United Arab Emirates (AED1399), Australia ($479.95), and New Zealand ($569.95).
Countries in the Euro-zone including France, Ireland, Benelux, Italy, Spain and Portugal, (€349.99) – will also make a saving of over 50 Euros when the new PS4 price is adjusted.
“Since the launch of PS4 our aim has always been to provide players with the best gaming experiences at the best value, and we’ve been thrilled with the amount of players who have joined our world,” the company said on its EU Blog.
Sony is clearly positioning its PS4 Price for the Holiday season and its good to see that the price reduction has come with plenty of time for the Holiday season. Since its release, the console has topped many Christmas lists and with demand still high, this year may turn out to be no different.
