Heavy metal inspired action title Slain: Back From Hell will be released on Playstation 4 this week. The arcade combat game developed by indie dev Andrew Gilmore and published by Digerati Distribution is out on PS4 September 21.
Slain: Back From Hell is a heavy-metal inspired game that pays homage to old school gameplay through stunning visuals, puzzle elements, and lots of Gore. Set in a dark world, the game’s frenetic combat action is accompanied by a metal soundtrack that will have players bobbing their head as they go on a rampage in-game.
The independently developed game is already a hit on video game download site Steam, where it has garnered a cult following and lots of positive reviews. Now PS4 owners will be able to take part in the carnage that Back From Hell delivers in spade-loads.
As if that wasn’t enough, there is also a 10% price discount for all PS Plus members who buy the game in its first week of sale.
Players will take on the role of veteran warrior Bathoryn, whom they must lead through the challenges of intense melee combat and brutal platform action. With this game, Indie developer Gilmore has achieved the perfect mix of the hack’n slash style of game from the 90’s, and today’s gaming technological abilities.
In the game Bathoryn is armed with a sword, an axe made from ice, a flaming blade, and some strong magic which he can call on to survive. All these will come in handy in trying to stop your opponents from ripping you apart piece by piece, or whose.
As such, the game is surely not for the faint hearted, but if you don’t mind a bit of blood and gore then you’re in for a wild ride!
Slain: Back From Hell features the amazing pixel visual art created by the game’s developer that pays tribute to some of heavy metal’s iconic album covers in its own gory way. Accompanying all this action, is a heavy-metal soundtrack written by former Celtic Frost band member Curt Victor Bryant.
