In its announcement revealing the World War Toons Open Beta, Reload also revealed a new level for the game.
The fourth level, ‘Pyramid Scheme,’ is a capture-the-flag type of match. Players will face-off amidst Ancient ruins in Egypt. The challenge will be to capture the free-range Ra Chicken and rush back to base.
A Chaotically Cartoony World
Players will have to navigate lava pits, lasers, fireballs and more to succeed however. And some swinging blades looking to skewer you add to the mayhem. Consequently, the new level round of a an already great title and PS VR owners will relish the game’ release.
Regarding players concerns about motion sickness, a particular issue with VR in general so far, William Lewis the community manager at reload studios had this to say:
“Right now we are planning on launching with two different control schemes. Our current default control scheme uses the left thumbstick in a 4 directional system. We have discovered that if you have a full 8 degree of motion players have a higher chance of simulation sickness. The right thumbstick has been replaced with your head movement. To look left, you look left, to like right, you look right, etc… .
. . . Therefore, In order to rotate your character in a full 180 we have introduced a mechanic that utilizes the head tracking feature. In addition this will be based upon the speed that you turn your head. As a result, your character will turn at a higher rate of speed.
The second control scheme is the traditional two thumbstick setup from other FPS titles. We only suggest this control scheme for advanced players that are already familiar with VR.”
