If you missed Sony’s press briefing live-stream from Gamescom, worry not, we have all the news and updates you need to know relating to everything PlayStation 4!
With Microsoft announcing an exclusivity deal with Square Enix for the next Tomb Raider Game over the coming holidays, gamers were keen to find out what Sony had in store for its fans. Turns out PlayStation gamers need not have worried as the Japanese entertainment giant produced a stellar list of announcements and reveals to keep us busy and anticipate over the coming months!
A Record Breaking Console and a Stellar Line-up Of Titles:
With over 10 million units sold, the PlayStation 4 console is now the fastest, and biggest selling Sony gaming console of all time. The console’s success will go a long way in securing Sonys commercial future and has left rivals in its wake.
Her’es what PS4 gamers can expect in the near future:
- Tearaway Unfolded: The critically acclaimed PS Vita title is heading to the PS4 platform as Tearaway unfolded, an expanded version of the vita game that will be retold and adapted for PS4. Gamers can expect a familiar story with extra new ways to play and experiencing a stunning world running at 1080p and 60fp:
- The Tomorrow Children: A PS4 exclusive, The Tommorow Children is an “out-there”, eccentric and wonderful game brought to you by the team at Q Games and , makers of the PixelJunk series. The games’ story is built on a re-imagined Soviet future with gamers tasked with reclaiming and restoring the human race to its former glory. Check the trailer belower for more:
- Alienation: From the makers of Dead Nation and Resogun, video games studio Housemarque return with a frenetic sci-fi shooter based in Cologne, Germany. :
- WiLD: This game is the incredible new title from Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil. Featuring a world the size of Europe with dynamic weather and seasons, and filled with endless interactive opportunities. As a PS4 exclusive, the game is geared to use the full power of the console and all its social capabilities. WiLD is an online survival adventure game set 10,000 years ago when nature and humanity were one in which every creature will be playable from the fish in the water to beasts in the wild:
- Until Dawn: An interactive horor gamefirst seen at Gamescom 2012 and initially slated for release on Playstation 3, this game by Supermassive Games is now coming to PS4. Using an updated version of the Killzone Shadow Fall engine, the game has been re-designed, re-built and re-written for the PS4 platform and we expect big things! - RIME: Another title currently in development for the PS4 platform by Tequila Works and Xdev Studio Europe. The game tells the story of a boy who must use his wits and ingenuity to survive – and ultimately escape from – a mysterious island and a terrible curse:
- Hellblade: From the makers of the Heavenly Sword and Devil May Cry series comes a new action title. Hellblade has been described by the studio as an Independant AAA game:
- Hollowpoint: An incredible new title fom Ruffian Games which is a highly tactical, 4 player co-operative action game featuring a blend of 2D platform shooter gameplay – directional aiming and precision based 3D shooter gameplay:
Also revealed was brand new trailer for DRIVECLUB and footage from Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Destiny, the exciting sequel that is Far Cry 4, and a memorable Metal Gear Solid 5 video. Other games confirmed as coming to PS4 include Papers Please, Nom Nom,, In Space We Brawl, and Dreamfall Chapters.
Hideo Kojima made his first ever appearance at Gamescom to reveal a few details about his upcoming stealth game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. One of which was the announcement that the boxes that the protagonist in the game, Snake uses to hide from his enemies will now be customisable with various images in order to distract guards and aid in stealth kills.
