Guerilla Games recently took to the Playstation Blog to show off their new Horizon: Zero Dawn Trailer. The gameplay footage showcases Horizon: Zero Dawn making full use of the power of PS4 Pro. Sony’s new PS4 console is out on November 10 and will offer a power upgrade on the current Playstation 4 console. Action role-playing game Zero Dawn is a Playstation exclusive title due for release in 2017. Check out the PS4 Pro gameplay demo trailer below:
PS4 Pro: Improved Graphics and Gameplay
The trailer above was recently shown at the PlayStation Meeting 201 and was greeted with delight by PS4 fans waiting to get their hands on the PS4 Pro. The console will feature a custom octocore AMD ‘Jaguar’ processor that will be backed up by 8GB of RAM and a graphics card capable of working at 4.2 teraflops.
This is the power that Guerrilla Games has harnessed to achieve the best in everything from the game’s artwork to create a more realistic and vibrant world. The lush post-apocalyptic world gains from the new consoles’ power but is also designed to impress on the standard PS4. Whether you play the game on a standard 1080p HDTV or via PS4 Pro and a 4K TV screen, the developer promises the franchise’s best visuals yet.
Guerilla is using a number of techniques to achieve this. One example is supersampling, whereby the studio creates the visuals at a high resolution before shrinking it to 1080p. The results are smoother and more stable images.
“PS4 Pro + HDR = Reality”
Another exciting feature that will be available for all PS4 games developers to take advantage of is HDR, which Guerilla likens to reality. The technology is os new that not many devices are yet able to support it, but the Sony Interactive Entertainment subsidiary believes that the only thing it can be compared to is the way we see things in real life.
Consequently, whether this game and or others will be able to achieve that level of realism, waits to be seen, but we’ll soon find out.
This is all thanks to the massive amount of extra processing power of the PS4 Pro and makes for an interesting time for gamers on the platform.
