A brand new teaser video for puzzle adventure game Pavilion has been released. Announced last year at the Tokyo Game Show and slated for a 2014 release, the games’ developers Visiontrick Media recently revealed the footage to shed more light on what gamers can expect from the ‘bewitching’ game when it is released later this year. The makers of the game describe it as a ‘fourth person’ puzzler in which players control the protagonist by influencing his surroundings and environment.
The term ‘fourth person’ has raised questions on whether Visiontrick are using the term as a way to create a buzz around the game. Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, Visiontrick Media’s co-Founder and creative director Henrik Flink explained that he term arose due to the fact that in the game, players will not have any control of the character in the story. Rather, gamers will have to do so indirectly, mainly through environmental interaction, in order to influence or forcing the character to explore the story in the games’ world.

A statement released by the company has this to say about the game: “Pavilion, the fourth person puzzling adventure from Visiontrick Media, throws you directly into its mysterious world without any text tutorials or beginning explanations. It is a puzzle game portrayed through exploration and audio-visual imagery. By interacting and observing you gradually, bit by bit, learn things about both the puzzling gameplay and the world itself.”
