It’s the last day of 2015 and Sony has the revealed the January 2016 PlayStation Plus games for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita just in time for the new year. The first free games for PlayStation 4 in 2016 will be Hardware: Rivals and Grim Fandango: Remastered. January 2016’s PS Plus games will be available for download on the 5th.
The other PS Plus games for January include Dragon Age: Origins and Medal of Honor: Warfighter on PS3. PS Vita games for January are Nihilumbra, and Legends of War: Patton.
January 2016 PlayStation Plus games for PS4:
Initially set to be released exclusively for PlayStation 4 on January 5 2016, Hardware: Rivals will now be available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers. A free exclusive Grim Fandango Remastered theme will also be available on the same day. The the vehicle combat game from SCE was to be priced at around £15.30. Check out the launch trailer below:
Hardware: Rivals is a remastered and updated version of the original vehicle combat title. In the revived Hardware: Rivals, players take on other drivers in fast-paced and explosive vehicular combat using heavy tanks or more nimbler fast attack vehicles.
Players can choose to battle alone or as part of a team as they take part in online challenges, game modes, events, and the multiple maps available in the game.
The game is one of two remastered January 2016 PlayStation Plus games for PS4.
The new Hardware: Rivals game will also include an extra map called Outpost 92. Outpost 92 is a deep-core mining facility that has been cut off by a blizzard and is slowly turning into a slippery, frozen wasteland. The game also comes with two new vehicles in the Sledgehammer (Tank) and an FAV Nomad.
The two new vehicles will line-up next to the wraith and predator, the games’ two other vehicles. All vehicles are customisable through a range of skins and add-ons that players can choose from. Although now one of the January 2016 PlayStation Plus games for PS4, Rivals was certainly worth a look regardless. The game is one of gaming’s classics and looks great on PS4.
Grim Fandango: Remastered
The second of January 2016 PlayStation Plus games for PS4 is Grim Fandango: Remastered. Perhaps Hardware: Rivals made the services and marketing department at SCEE nostalgic as Grim Fandango: Remastered is another re-invented classic.
One of gaming’s more popular games, Grim Fandago: Remastered has been updated and refined for the PlayStation 4 console. In the class caper, Players will take on the role of a travel agent for the dead called Manny Calavera. Grim Fandango’s storyline covers four years of Manny’s existence.
