Wales Interactive, the gaming studio behind successful thrillers such as Master Reboot and Soul Axiom, today announced that its sci-fi action running game Infinity Runner is coming to the PlayStation 4 soon. Ben Tester, the company’s marketing and environment artist made the official announcement on the PlayStation blog today.
Infinity Runner will be Wales Interactive’s first title to come on PlayStation 4, and the company is quite excited about the development so far. The game will bring new visuals, and 56 Trophies up for grabs. Infinity Runner is expected to launch on April 22 this year, and will be available for a price similar to the cost of a London pint. The game will be available on PlayStation Store at launch.
The title revolves around the main character attempting to run away from a starship that is gradually dying. The ship is said to be stalked by a werewolf, and the player must tackle the challenges posed by it. Infinity Runner will have PlayStation 4 gamers protect themselves from being hunted down, and torn apart during the gameplay.
Players will be controlling the protagonist, you is a prisoner, from a first person point of view. The main purpose of the player is to escape the extremely large spaceship. The surrounding environment will continuously keep on changing as the player progresses throughout the game. A mysterious voice will guide the player throughout the journey, and it’s supposed to be the only guiding force for the protagonist throughout the game.
This mysterious voice will provide the player with valuable information that may help plan the escape. The ultimate goal of the player during the game is to escape The Infinity, which is going to be quite a task.
Infinity Runner will test a player’s quick reflexes with a number of obstacles that appear throughout the game, along with several other surprises thrown at the player. Guards and inhabitants of the ship will try and stop the player from escaping the ship. These enemies will kick off combat sections that use dynamic targeting system which will make the player react quickly, and therefore increase difficulty levels.
Players can increase their scores by getting data packets and searching for the pick-up that can change the rules of the game. This will enable the player to become a hunter, and then go on to hunt the guards. The game takes advantage of PlayStation 4’s Dualshock 4 motion to allow players to jump, slide, and dodge during the game with a flick or tilt of the controller. Infinity Runner will be available in full high definition (1080p), set at 60 frames per second (fps).
