Acclaimed PS VR horror title Here they lie is now available as a standard PlayStation 4 game from today. This means that players can now enjoy the game without the virtual reality headset on PS4 and PS4 Pro. The standard version comes with 4K and HDR support to make the most of the power of the latest iteration of the console.

Videogame developer Tangentleman has confirmed that existing owners of Here they Lie on PS VR will automatically get the update via a downloadable patch. And for those who are now enticed to buy the game after the release of the standard version will get both versions. Players will be able to switch between the VR and Standard versions of Here They Lie seamlessly. The new release comes as part of an update that is bringing a higher quality render-mode for not only PS4 Pro and PS VR but the standard console as well.
In the update, Tangentleman mentions that it has tried to implement as many requests from the Here they Lie community as possible. Thanks to players feedback and scheduled improvements the game will now have a range of visual upgrades, subtitles for the standard version, and the hugely requested Chapter Select screen option.

With all that in mind, this means that for players who find the game too terrifying on PS VR or don’t yet have the headset can now also enjoy the game. In terms of existing PlayStation VR users, there are a number of updates for players on the virtual reality headset. Improvements include smoother and more accurate head tracking, and a reworking of the sharpness of the games’ visuals and its world.
These improvements should result in a more immersive experience for players on PS VR. There are some additional tutorials now available as well to help players have a smooth transition to VR among a slew of other upgrades.
