Color Guardians mountain-001

If you’re a fan of indie games, then you are surely in for a treat, as a Costa Rican team of game developers called Fair Play Labs are releasing a brand new twitch-based game, Color Guardians!

From Friday 15 May, PS4 gamers will be able to experience this truly awesome game on both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita after a really long time in development, which included the entire process of designing, testing and playing the game (you can’t make a good game without having some fun, right?).

Now that every last bit of this game has been polished, dusted and brought to perfection, we’re sure that Color Guardians has every single thing and feature necessary to satisfy every player, which you can see for yourself in the trailer below:

Now let’s focus on the background of the game’s developers for a bit. Considering Fair Play are based in Costa Rica, which makes it hard to share creations and games with the biggest publishers in Europe.

The developers have only been in existence for a short time and would constantly face questions like “How many console games have you published before?” This brings to a logic counter-question – how can anyone publish their first ever console game before publishing the first console game? Nevertheless the talented team persevered and this colourful and breezy game is the result of their labours.

Sony has been providing huge support for game developers from Latin America (including other countries like Mexico, Brazil and Argentina), and because of their support programs for indie games, the opportunity was there to work on a hit game for PS4 and PS Vita, and the decision was made to create Color Guardians, a game that features a colourful scheme, but still demands a lot of effort from the players to pass the levels, including quick reactions.

Color Guardians’ developers paid attention to what the fans requested, meaning that the game will feature everything necessary to be the next big hit, including the Cross-Buy feature, not to mention that there’s a Platinum Trophy for the best individuals playing Color Guardians.

So for now, we hope you’re just as eager as we are for this game, and don’t forget to share your best moments while playing Color Guardians with the three main characters: Rod, Lia and Grock. You will surely love playing this, even if you’re not a big fan of indie games!
