Following on from the announcement of the release date for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the game now has a PlayStation 4 product page wich will help answer any questions you may have about the game and the upcoming beta phases. You can also see the one of the game’s first trailer, recorded with PS4 in-game scenes.
Beta Details:
The Beta will be in two phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 will begin from the 22nd of February to the 3rd of March, and there will be a character wipe when this beta phase closes. Phase 2 opens only for three days from the 4th of April to the 7th. Characters created in Phase 2 will be transferable to the PS4 retail game when purchased even if you play the Beta on PS3 or PC.
If you would like to transfer from PS3 to PS4, the date you need to remember is Friday the 11th of April, 2014. This is when the PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4 transfer service starts. Once you have tranferred onto your PS4 console you’ll be unable to play on your Playstation 3 using the exixsting game. If you still want to play on your PS3, the advice is to get a separate game for your PS4 console.
A Realm Reborn’s developers, Square Enix revealed on the PlayStation blog that PS4 features would include 1080p graphics, PS Vita remote play, as well as mouse and keyboard support. Also available will be full share support giving PS4 owners the ability to stream their gameplay and share screenshots. The touchpad on the Dualshock 4 controller will also be fully supported.
