Norwegian indie studio, Red Thread Games, currently developing the episodic adventure game Dreamfall Chapters, have revealed that the title will now be coming to PS4. In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, Ragnar Tørnquist, the studio’s creative director, confirmed that work had begun on the Dreamfall Chapters project.
Dreamfall Chapters has been made a reality thanks to its KickStarter campaign which raised 1.5 million dollars,- almost double its $850.000 goal. The project has also received additional funding from the Norwegian Film Institute.
A game about making choices and the consequences to both the protagonist and those around him that follow as a result of those decisions, Dreamfall Chapters is the follow on from point-and-click adventure, The Longest Journey. The original game is a cyberpunk vision of the future and follows the adventures of a time shifting student as he passed between different dimensions. Dreamfall Chapters is a magical fantasy that takes players on a journey between the two worlds by following the story of a twenty year old woman called Zoë Castillo and lives 200 years into the future.
Zoe lives in a European Mega-city that is controlled by huge conglomerates and she and a few others have to try and uncover the secret behind a dreaming disease that is threatening reality. The games’ gripping story line will allow gamers to experience a varied and diverse cast of characters as they weigh the decisions alone or with friends to shape the games’ course. Dreamfall Chapters has a colourful story that is an important part of the game play, resulting in a completely unique and personal experience for every player.
Details of when exactly PlayStation 4 owners can expect the game to be ready are not yet known, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as more info comes our way.
