Square Enix has revealed that Dragon Quest Builders will be coming to PS4 and PS Vita and is slated for release on October 14, 2016. The developer also released details of bonus features gamers will receive if they buy the game on launch day. Plus there is also some great looking box art accompanying the reveal, which you can see below.
Dragon Quest games are traditionally JRPGs, where characters can be modified and leveled up, go on an adventure through the lands, and embark on a narrative. However, unlike the other games in series, Dragon Quest Builders will be a sandbox role-playing game, more along the lines of Minecraft.
Players will collect materials and resources and craft items and build everything, just like you would in Minecraft. The world is packed with lively characters and wicked monsters. This is all set in the magical Dragon Quest story, so let’s get you up to speed on the wonderful tale of Dragon Quest Builders.
Dragon Quest Builders comes to the West
A long time ago, the realm of Alefgard fell into darkness by the evil and malicious Dragonlord, ruler of all monsters.Humans were left in ruin and were forced to survive by living off scraps in a desolate land.Players will now have to rebuild Alefgard and restore it to its former glory.
You are the Legendary Builder, chosen by the Goddess herself. Your task is to restore balance to the lands and vanquish the evil Dragonlord.
The classic game is finally getting a European release after years of popularity in the East. Consequently, the bonus features should increase interest in the game, namely a voucher code that grants access to exclusive recipes. Dragon Quest Builders PS4 Bonus

- Gold Block Recipe – Does what its name suggests and allows players to create shiny golden blocks!
After completing the first chapter of the main story in Builders, players will unlock Terra Incognita Mode and have complete access to these recipes. Of course, only those who buy it on October 14, 2016 can avail this offer.
Having the recipe is only part of it, however; you still need to have the resources on hand to make use of them. Start gathering raw materials from multiple sources and you will be on your way to building amazing structures.
Dragon Quest Builders was first revealed last year and has already been launched in Japan in January earlier this year with success.
What sets Builders apart from Minecraft is that Builders actually has a story mode centered on an alternate ending to the original Dragon Quest. This game is part of Square Enix’s attempt to widen the audience of the game.
