Veteran software publisher and video games developer Codemasters has announced that its popular racing video game series, Dirt, will be coming to PS4 with Dirt 4. The next instalment in the acclaimed rally sim is slated for release in June 2017. The game will be the biggest ever in the series and will come with a ton of improvements and updates.
All New Route Generator and More US Locations
Dirt 4 will land on PS4 with a whole load of improvements, the first of which is a route generator called Your Stage. The feature is literally a game changing tool as it allows players to create and customise their own stages and routes. Options such as stage length, difficulty, and environment mean that Your Stage has an infinite number of possible rally routes.
And with the ability to share routes online and with friends, this should turn out to be a popular mode.
Codemasters has also added loads more Career mode rally stages with a particular emphasis on the number of US locations. The American locations include Michigan, California, Mexico and Nevada, while there will be an all new DirtFish Rally School in Washington.
Dirt 4 will also have an all new Joyride mode while buggy racing makes a comeback to the series in Landrush.
At the Rally school players can learn some tips and tricks from motorsport expert and competitor Jen Horsey or Rally Driver Colin McRae. Jen will be the tutor in the US version of the game while UK players will work with McRae and his co Driver Nicky Grist. Consequently, you can choose between the two options if you wish to. In addition, players will be able to use the school as a free practice zone where you can can fine-tune their cars.
Codemasters’ announcement is an exciting revelation for any Dirt fans out there and we certainly can’t wait until June when the game comes out.
