Cartoon Network has always been an innovative and creative company, pushing the boundaries and creating outrageously fun toons and shows, and sometimes these shows are so successful on TV, that they get immortalized in gaming too. The latest games recently announced as coming from Cartoon Network’s studios are Steven Universe and OK K.O! Let’s Be Heroes. The cult classic Steven Universe and new show Lets be Heroes will arrive as games on PS4 later this year.
Steven Universe makes PS4 debut
Steven Universe, – the worldwide hit TV series which airs on Cartoon Network is getting a new installment in the gaming world, titled Save the Light. The game is set to come out sometime this year, and also takes place in the Steven Universe world, just like the previous game (Attack the Light). Save the Light is intended to be the direct sequel of the previous game, except that this time around, the developers are making an ever grander concept which will come on PS4, unlike its prequel, which only came out for mobile devices.
For all of you who aren’t big fans of this franchise, or never got the time to play any of these games before, the both games are an RPG type game, but in a unique sense, because they combine both real time and turn based combat. This makes for an interesting and challenging experience for everyone who is a fan of the RPG genre.
As the main character, you will be a leader of a small party of characters who have the task of defending Beach City from the mystic warrior who attacks it. You will have full control of your party, customizing every character to make your playing time as much as enjoyable as you can.
OK K.O! Let’s Be Heroes gets PS4 brawler tie-in
The creators of this project, Rebecca Sugar and Chris Graham, say that this game sets and emphasis on puzzle solving and exploration, as well as deep character customization, which help to make this animated world more realistic. The story is written that way, so that even the players who have no previous experience in this world catch on easily and follow the plot.
The game will be presented to fans at PAX East, when they will have the opportunity to play it at Cartoon Network’ booth, and first few fans will receive the code for a free download of Attack the light on iOS and Android.
The second game coming out from Cartoon Network’s imagination has an interesting story to it, as it is coming out this autumn both as a video game and a TV show. The OK K.O! Let’s Be Heroes, created by Ian Jones-Quartey, the creator of Steven Universe and Adventure Time, is an action-brawler RPG, which ties into the TV shows story. The TV show is set in a video-game inspired world filled with references and easter eggs, and the game will expand this setting by having you, as the player, control the characters in their adventures and heartwarming tales.
Both of these games show a lot of promise, but we will have to wait until later this year and see will they justify the high expectations they are setting for their fans.
