Great news for all you Call of Duty fans out there; the first downloadable content free trial is on this weekend! The ‘Onslaught’ DLC will be available for download on the PlayStation Store from 6pm on Friday the 26th to 6pm on Monday the 28th of April for all PlayStation gamers to experience.
Onslaught features four new maps; namely Fog, Bayview, Ignition and Containment. Fog is an eerie camp near a lake, and there is a special treat in store for those players with the skills to complete the maps’ field orders. Set in a Californian boardwalk, Bayview is the perfect setting for snipers and those who prefer combat at close quarters. This map even features a mobile trolley bus that can be used as cover.
Containment centres around the bridge found in the middle of the map, with the opportunity to use it as a means of flanking your opponents, or fighting over the sight lines found between the two sides of the map. Meanwhile, gamers will be pleased to note that the Ignition map is inspired by one of the games’ most popular maps in Modern Warfare 2 – the Scrapyard Map.
As if that wasn’t enough, the new DLC also introduces a brand new weapon called The Maverick, this weapon offers players a choice between a Sniper Rifle with an advanced scope and an Assault Rifle, allowing you to select the weapon that suits your playing style.
Part of the four part Extinction story, the Onslaught DLC is the first episode in a series that will see the arrival of two new enemies, including one of the biggest ones seen in the Call of Duty Series called the Breeder, along with various new mechanics updates for the game.
