This week the team at Supergiant Games launched their new title for PS3 and PS4 consoles called Bastion. Many of you have probably played the first version of Bastion (launched almost four years ago) or Transistor, which debuted on the PlayStation4 last year.
As a result, its easy see what kind of innovations have occurred in this latest version, to compare these games, and to enjoy the completely new game content. However, if you have never played any of previous Supergiant games, this will be a totally new gaming experience for you. Welcome to the club of Bastion lovers!
As stated by the good people at Supergiant, the game was designed in an organic way anduntil its developers felt that they were done. The game developers wanted Bastion to feel cohesive, not to be just a simple collection of cool game features. We believe that this small independent studio succeeded in that endeavor!
Bastion is the kind of action role-playing video game for PS3 / PS4 consoles, with a unique level structure – a total of ten levels. The main player character is “the Kid”, so you will control and move him through hovering, fantasy-themed environments and struggle with different types of enemies. Each level consists of a single plane (with isometric projection), where there are many enemies who are trying to harm the Kid.
Before starting to play certain level, you (i.e., the Kid) will have to open a wooden box that refers to that level, and to see which weapons are available. You can select various weapons (such as Scrap Musket, War Machete and others) at specific game locations called arsenals. Keep in mind that the Kid can carry two weapons.
Also, you have ability to apply a special attack, but use this possibility only when it is really necessary because special attacks may be performed only three times. That’s not all! However, we don’t want to tell you all the details of the game.
Bastion has an amazing worldwide success. The game earned more than hundred different accolades and awards, and more than 3,000,000 people have bought this game all around the world. It has surpassed all expectations and wildest fantasies of developers from Supergiant team.
This team of seven members could not assume that their game will gain such a great success while they created this game in the living room of a home in a California suburb. Its hand-painted scenery works in brilliant 1080p at a smooth 60 frames per second! For all serious gamers on PS4, Bastion is a game that you’ll probably want to add to your collection.
