Popular MMO game The Elder Scrolls Online will be open to everyone on PS4 in its first ever free to play weekend. The online-based multiplayer role playing game will be free to play from wednesday 16 to Sunday the 20th of November. The opportunity for gamers on PlayStation 4 to get a taste of the game at no charge comes as developer ZeniMax Online Studios also debuts the games’ PS4 Pro enhancements.
ZeniMax sees the Elder Scrolls Online free to play weekend as a way for both newcomers to the game and returning veterans to sample the massive ESO world. Players interested in taking part could begin downloading the game as of 5:01 AM GMT on Wednesday November 16.
Heres how to get involved in the Elder Scrolls Online free to play weekend; – Simply visit The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited page on the PlayStation Store, download the game, and create an Elder Scrolls account. Playstation Plus will not be required for the free period, which means anyone on PS4 can have a go if they wish.
Once the game has been installed on your system and your account has been created all you have to do is login and start exploring Tamriel.
73 GB of HDD Space Required
Developers ZeniMax Online Studios offer a word of caution though, the ESO download is huge! The content represents the full Elder Scrolls game and so will come in at a whopping 73 GB of HDD space. With that in mind, players looking to take part in the free to play weekend may want to organise their library a bit before starting the download.
Features of the ESO free to play weekend include a complimentary 500 crowns which players can use in the Crown Store to buy costumes, or helpful scrolls, and access to the full base game, excluding DLC game pack areas. If you decide to purchase the game after this weekend all your characters and progress will be carried over to your new game.
To add a sweetener to an already great offer, ZeniMax will also be running a sweepstakes in which five lucky gamers will win a trip of a lifetime. The prizes feature travel packages to one of five exotic locations, including accommodation, food and excursions. Existing players are already qualified, but new ones will need to register on the games’ contest page to enter.
